~ A PROCLAMATION ~

Let it be known far and wide that Saturday, 9 September 2000, is hereby designated as Congressman RONNIE SHOWS Appreciation Day.

Let it also be known that military retirees, family members, and friends of Ronnie Shows will meet in Laurel, MS, on the Congressman Ronnie Shows appreciation day, to express our very sincere thanks to Congressman Shows for his untiring efforts to encourage the Congress of the United States to take those actions necessary to honor the medical care promises made to America's military retirees via The Keep Our Promise to America's Military Retirees Act, HR 2966 and HR 3573.

Congressman Ronnie Shows has DONE WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD DO. Now we need to help him and show our appreciation for his UNTIRING EFFORTS. Congressman Shows attended the meeting in Laurel, MS, on 27 March 1999. This Question was asked; will you go back to Washington and submit Legislation that will Restore the Broken Promise? At that meeting 477 people heard the Congressman make that pledge. Congressman Shows did return to Washington after getting an "EARFUL" in Laurel, MS, that day. He consulted with others and wrote HR 2966.

On 28 September 1999 at 5:06 PM Congressman Shows SUBMITTED to the U.S. House of Representatives HR 2966. Later he SUBMITTED HR 3573. In addition, He has brought this retired military healthcare issue to the NATIONAL LEVEL. He has inspired the "grass roots movements" to new heights and has raised the "BAR" TO AN UNPRECEDENTED LEVEL.

As a result of these action on the part of Congressman Shows, You are invited to "THE RONNIE SHOWS APPRECIATION BUFFET". This is a fund raising event for the Congressman expressing our gratitude for going beyond the "NORMAL" on our behalf.
